[edit] General information
The school has ranked among the best public schools in New Hampshire. During 2001-2003 it had a graduation rate of 96.97%. The school also has had strong success in sports, especially in boys soccer, which has won several state championships. The girls basketball team went undefeated in the 2005-2006 season to bring home a state championship. The boys indoor track team also won a state championship during the 2006-2007 season.
In 2006 the school underwent a major expansion to its facilities, including a new gym, at a cost in excess of $22 million.
Oyster River was in the news in the Fall of 2007 when the Senior class produced and distributed T-shirts which read "Oyster River High School Seniors" on the front and "08- Pushing the limit" on the back. The placement of a bobcat paw print in front of the "08" purportedly makes the shirt read ".08," the legal drinking limit in NH.
In 2008 the high school was ranked first in the state in the standardized testing taken by the junior class (class of 2009).[citation needed]
For the graduating class of 2008, the drop-out rate is 0.
