Edit to add this is no longer relevent: At the moment anyone looking for Oxford cavaliers would have to specifically enter 'Oxford Cavaliers rugby league', which is unlikely. If someone was looking for the rugby league club in Wikipedia they would be likely to conclude there was no entry for them, as the link is rather hidden apart from the article. The American football team has been given a good mention on the rugby league site: oxford cavaliers rugby league.

I heard that Oxford has a long historical connection with the University of Virginia, thereby explaining the fact that they have the same nickname and similar logos. Any information on this? Lmeister 23:30, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

I think it's more that Oxford was the Royalist (aka Cavalier) capital during the English Civil War. Having played for the Cavs, that was what I was told when I joined the team. - Masonpatriot 02:14, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
