Oxford High School is more than just a place of learning; it’s a community where students can share their creativity, morals, and future goals. The academic requirements are issued by the Massachusetts Department of Education and the Oxford High School staff is dedicated to making sure that all students meet these requirements.

[edit] Levels

Oxford High offers four levels of courses to every student, ensuring that each student learns at their own pace. These are career, college preparatory, honors and Advanced Placement. Oxford High also offers various extra courses for those students who would like to go above and beyond the required learning.

[edit] Rules and Regulation

Oxford High School's graduation requirements are as follows: 4 years of English and Physical Education, 3 years of Math, Social Studies, and Science, and 2 years of a World Language.

[edit] Sports and Extracurricular Activities

Oxford High School is the home of the Pirates. Like any good sports team, they stand for hard work, sportsmanship, compassion, and most of all teamwork. Over the years budget cuts for public schools have been an issue but, with the help of the students and the Athletic Director John Doldorian Jr., sports are still a huge part of the school community. The school offers sports including football, soccer, golf, track, softball, baseball, and basketball. The Oxford Pirates boys soccer and basketball teams were both playoff teams this year. The football team was sadly the polar opposite and suffered their second 1-win season in the last two years.

The school also offers other extracurricular activities such as ski club, band, theater and chorus. The Oxford High School Band, directed by Mr. Alton Baggett, has placed first in every competition that they have attended, both home and abroad. Alton Baggett is also in charge of the marching band which performs at every home football game both pregame and at halftime.
