Oxfam Canada

Oxfam Canada, founded in 1963, is an international development agency based in Ottawa, Canada working with over 100 partner organizations in Africa, Asia and the Americas. It works with partner organizations to tackle the root causes of poverty, injustice and inequality, helping to create self-reliant and sustainable communities. Oxfam believes that to end global poverty, the most important thing we can do is secure women's rights.

In Canada, Oxfam works on development education, advocacy, public awareness and building a constituency of support for its work. Supporting long-term development, advocacy and emergency programs in 28 countries.

Oxfam Canada is a member of Oxfam International, an confederation of the thirteen Oxfams worldwide. With Oxfam International, it works on joint campaigns to raise awareness of issues, and to influence the policy of governments and institutions such as the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the United Nations.

Oxfam Canada is supported financially by the financial contributions of over 50,000 individual and institutional donors across Canada. It is a registered charity.
