[edit] Welcome
Hello, Owen214, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Newcomers help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}}
on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- The Five Pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Editing tutorial
- Picture tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Naming conventions
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!
Beyond the standard welcome template above, I noticed that a few of your edits were changing AD to CE, or American to Commonwealth spellings - general consensus is to leave those things the way they are in the article, unless it the article is clearly about an American or Commonwealth topic. You may want to see the Manual of Style, especially WP:MOS#National varieties of English. -- stillnotelf is invisible 05:34, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Sodium carbonate
Sorry, but Sodium carbonate is not a chemistry article , it is a Wikipedia article i.e. intended to inform everyone and not just chemists. Thus synthesis is both an industrial and man managed process but it is also what happens in many natural biological, geological, etc. systems. Please don't impose specific meanings on words outside of their general meaning. (and who exactly are the hippies ?). velela
[edit] Violation of WP:NPA No personal attacks. 2nd warning.
Please do not make personal attacks on other people, as you did at Talk:Thomas Edison when you called me an idiot as shown by the diff [1]. Wikipedia has a policy against personal attacks. In your edit [2] 20 October 2006 (UTC) of Talk:Thomas Edison you referred to other editors as "idiots" and "morons," "pansy" and "a bunch of fools" and called their edits "a piece of bs." You then removed on Feb. 8, 2007, a "no personal attacks warning" from your talk page about the October edits per the diff [3], which is not considered acceptable. In some cases, users who engage in personal attacks may be blocked from editing by admins or banned by the arbitration committee. Comment on content, not on other contributors. Please contribute to articles by finding reliable sources and using them with proper citations to edit the articles collaboratively. Thanks. Edison 22:23, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
