My "wikiphilosophy" is strongly eventualist; however, I am adamantly against "Darwikinism". In short I think it's best to ignore the short term benefits of any action, and think entirely ahead. For instance, I see actions such as merging as generally worthless if the smaller article is notable enough to have an article at all, because in the end it will only need to be recreated. However I would not argue as most eventualists that the site will necessarily improve over time. I'm also a radical proponent of the assume good faith guideline and as a result strongly condemn the site's hierarchical arrangements. The philosophy of Wiki is one of trusting human nature, and this is poorly reflected in our current policy restricting access to features for most users, rather than simply removing these privileges from those incapable of handling them. This would be consistent with our policy regarding vandalism, in which we remove the privilege of editing from those incapable of doing so to the benefit of the site. Just as providing wide access to editing capabilities provides a net benefit to Wikipedia, so would providing access to other utilities.
