There appears to be an anonymous user who has a bit of an problem with the Scots language being erroneously considered (in his/her opinion) as two languages (Scots when in Scotland and Ullans in Northern Ireland.
After having had my comments on Talk:European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages altered for the second time ([1], [2]), I posted a somewhat grumpy message on User talk:217.225.26.59, just in case he sees it. I also went through all the contributions for that user ([3], [4]) and reverted where appropriate.
Comments on these POV edits and reversions are now scattered across Talk:United Kingdom, Talk:Northern Ireland and Talk:British-Irish Council. There appears to have been a not-quite-edit-war on Ulster Scots language on the subject, though the latest version of the page (to which I've just made a tiny formatting edit, partly in order to get a distinct URI for the revision) seems to be broadly NPOV, mentioning that
- Although usually treated as a variety of Scots some consider it to be a language in its own right, while others regard it as a dialect of English.
I'm not sure (atm) whether any further action needs to be taken, but if anyone spots the user in the process of making these edits, it'd be very useful if we could persuade them to create an account, so that consensus can be gained.
