[edit] Copyright
The classic Abraham's picture of O.G.Jones must now be 106 years old or more. Does this mean it's now Public Domain??? Linuxlad 22:21, 1 December 2005 (UTC)
- Later - I think the news is bad - UK copyright subsists from 70 years after death of last creator I believe, and George Abraham died in 1965.... Moreover, according to Hankinson most of the Abraham photos he reproduced (in 'Camera on the Crags') now belong to the Fell & Rock. Anyone know different??? Bob aka Linuxlad
Wikipedia is based in the US so US copyright law applies. Works created before 1923 are in the public domain in the US; see Public domain#Expiration. Gdr 15:52, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] where born?
Was Glynne Jones actually born in Wales? If so, where? Linuxlad
Nope. London. See revised text. Silentrunner 03:00, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Copyright issue revisited
Shall I put up the photo mentioned above? Silentrunner 03:02, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
- I'm trying to recollect the similar issue of copyright on the Napes Needle pic. (see Great Gable). My recollection is that Fell & Rock (FRCC) own it and it's current even the State of Florida's relaxed terms. Will check. :-) Bob aka Linuxlad 07:21, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
