Owen Joao Cornelius (Rubber Doll) Da Gama (born August 18, 1961 in Volksrust, Mpumalanga) is a former South African footballer, currently managing Orlando Pirates. He coached Platinum Stars, who were previously known as Silver Stars, until late September 2007.
During his playing career he spent time with Derry City F.C. of the League of Ireland and Moroka Swallows. He also played in Spain and Belgium.
Infamous for his 'bum-wiping' goal celebration, he has brought it with him into management and recently got himself into a spot of bother with rival team, Kaizer Chiefs, after performing the ritual after his team scored a fourth goal against them.[1] Da Gama has also scooped the coveted 2005/06 "Coach of the Season" Award at the annual PSL End-of-Season Awards Function.
He guided Silver Stars to victory in the inaugural Telkom Knockout Cup in South Africa. The Lions of the North defeated Ajax Cape Town 3-1 at the Atteridgeville Super Stadium in Pretoria with Simba Marumo scoring a first-half hat-trick for Da Gama's team.
