Owen Brown

Owen Brown (1771-1856) was an Oberlin College trustee from 1835-1844 and the founder of the abolitionist Oberlin Church (“Free Church”). In 1833 he helped to found the Western Reserve Anti-Slavery Society. He was the father of John Brown.
