Talk:OverPower

A note about the verifiability of the information in the history section: I know that this historical account is borne out by Wizards and Marvel Interactive official communications, and I *had* seen that information on the web in years past, but they were archived by Overpower sites (including Gary Martin's site which used to have a link here) that have since vanished. Remember, just because something isn't verifiable at your desk through Google doesn't mean it isn't verifiable. This backs up some of it: [1] but as a google cache, who knows how long it will remain there. Mangojuice 15:49, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

In the interests of disclosure, User:Kentcallison attepmted to nominate this page for deletion on April 7, 2006. Since he didn't close the curly braces, the AfD tag was incorrectly added so I reverted it (he did not do any of the other steps in the AfD process). If anyone wants to recognize the attempt to delete this page and complete the AfD nomination, let me point out first that his reason for doing so was retaliation [2]. I am an active player and collector of OverPower. I have been playing this game since it's release and am establishing a network for people who still play/collect this game. If you are interested in joining, email me at derrekdraper@yahoo.com.

Bios106037: Reprinting old cards won't alienate long-time collectors and fans. Many promos were reprinted and it had no effect in fans (All Any Hero specials from first sets, including the Web-Headed Wizard were reprinted. Other examples were the Any Character Alien Symbiote, the Onslaught's characters, Adam Warlock character and Specials). IQ set reprinted most of the characters and was very successful. It's not true that Overpower was not well-designed for long-term production. As we can see in the Heroclix or VS System wich would face the same problem, since most of the popular characters were already released, but popular characters can be released in many sets and variants.
