Overseas Malays refer to Muslim of Malay ancestry living outside Malaysia, Indonesia, South Thailand and neighbouring ethnic Malay home areas. The Cape Malays in South Africa and Cocos Malays in Australia are some of the well-known overseas Malay communities.

There are no official statistics of oversea Malay, here we assume the Malay are Muslim. However the number of population of oversea Malay might added some keling decent. Some figure of the population here is just a guess.
