Over 60s cricket

Over 60s cricket is a form of cricket where all players are over 60 years of age. It has slightly modified rules, matches have 40 overs per side and batsmen retire after scoring 40 runs.

The world's first over 60s cricket match took place in Brighton, Victoria, Australia in January 2003. The concept was created by John Hammer who is the current secretary of the Victoria Over 60s Cricket Association. O/60 Cricket commenced in UK in June 2004.

On August 26, 2007, an Australian 0/60 team will visit UK to play 9 0/60 games in six counties.

Over 60 cricket is now played in 5 Australian states: NSW, Victoria, Sth Australia, Australian Capital Territory and Tasmania. In Royal Park, Melbourne, from November 19 until November 23, there will be a national 0/60 cricket carnival involving 10 teams from 5 states.
