Ovenden

Ovenden is a village in the county of West Yorkshire, England.

It is located next to Boothtown and Illingworth. It is 1 mile from Halifax town centre.

Ovenden had a railway station on the Halifax and Ovenden Joint Railway. The station was closed in 1955.

It has a rugby league club, Ovenden RLFC, that competes in the National Conference League.

Schools include The Ridings School, a comprehensive secondary school which gained national notoriety as one of the worst schools in the UK. It is set to close in September 2008.
