[edit] New image

Should we replace the main picture of Oval BA with this mosaic taken by New Horizons? http://pluto.jhuapl.edu/gallery/missionPhotos/images/HighRes/022807_3.jpg Rdl381 22:01, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Keep the coloured one for now; whenever a tinted version of the NH image is released, then by all means, swap it, but right now that image is rather difficult to read. Serendipodous 13:01, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Little Red Spot

Just added a redirect and a bold mention of the name, as it seems to be growing in popularity among scientists. Alan Stern's commentary on New Horizons's recent image of Oval BA referred to it exclusively as the Little Red Spot. [1] Serendipodous 10:51, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

Interesting Googlefight results:
"Little red spot" Jupiter yields 16,000 results
"Oval BA" yields 15,900 results
"red spot jr" jupiter yields 15,300 results
"red jr" jupter yeilds 9,090 results
Right now, the net seems pretty evenly split as to whether to call this new formation the Little Red Spot, Red Spot Jr or Oval BA, with "Little Red Spot just edging out the competition. In the future, if Little Red Spot does become the more accepted term, should this page be redirected? Serendipodous 13:14, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] New Color Image

I replaced the NH grayscale image with a new colorized one that was released today. Perhaps this image could be used as the main picture? --Phantomdj 23:25, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

I actually prefer the current main picture; it shows Oval BA in contrast to the Great Red Spot. The NH image could just as easily be of the Great Red Spot. Serendipodous 05:29, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
