Ouvrage Haut-Poirier was a lesser work (petit ouvrage) of the Maginot Line. The ouvrage consisted of one entry and three infantry blocks, and is located between the Saare valley and petit ouvrage Welschhof, facing Germany.

On 15 June 1940, Haut-Poirier was cut off by advancing German forces approaching from the rear. Without support from a gros ouvrage, it was attacked from the rear and forced to surrender on 21 June [1].
