The prime-time special Out to Lunch aired on December 10, 1974 on ABC, from 9 to 10pm ET. It mixed the Sesame Street and The Electric Company casts along with guest stars Elliott Gould, Barbara Eden, and Carol Burnett.
The premise of the show was that the ABC newscasters had all gone to lunch, and it was up to the Electric Company cast and the Muppets to make up an hour of programming.
A member of the Electric Company cast, Rita Moreno, received an Emmy nomination in 1975 for this special in the category of Outstanding Continuing or Single Performance by a Supporting Actress in Variety or Music.
