[edit] History

OutSystems is a multinational software company created in March 2001.

The company closed a €1 million round of seed funding in October 2001 with the Dutch Venture Capitalist firm NesBIC CTe FUND (Fortis Group),[1] a €2.2 million Series B round of investment led by PME Investimentos[2] in February 2005, and a €2.4 million investment from ES Ventures[3] in June 2007. Since its creation, OutSystems has been achieving yearly growth of around 100%.

In 2003, OutSystems was identified by Fortune Magazine as one of the 6 most promising startups.[4] Market analysts like Gartner, Butler and OVUM have identified OutSystems as an innovative software company.[5]

In February 2006, OutSystems was positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the 2006 Integrated Services Environment (ISE) Market Magic Quadrant report.

In March 2007, the company launched an early adopters beta program for the OutSystems Express Edition, a free version of the OutSystems Platform. The OutSystems Community that was previously only available to clients and partners, was also opened so that enthusiasts and small ISV's can better share knowledge about the platform.
