Our House (2006) is a telemovie drama film starring Doris Roberts as a lonely socialite who takes a group of homeless people into her home. Judy Reyes also stars as a homeless woman.

[edit] Plot

After taking an overdose of pills in an attempt to commit suicide after the recent death of her husband and the rejection of her family, Ruth, an elderly socialite is saved by Billy, a homeless woman. Although Billy is initially resistant to Ruth's attempts to befriend her, she eventually relents and accepts a place to stay in the lonely old socialite's mansion. To the dismay of Ruth's family and neighbors, several other homeless people also move in with them. Towards the end of the film, however, they are faced with an obstacle - with the homeless people living in her mansion, it is looked upon as a hostel, and the homes in the area may only be used as places of residence. As Ruth's family realize the errors of their ways, Ruth is struck down by cancer, and dies at her home. The film ends with Ruth's lawyer marrying Billy, and showing a photograph of the homeless people smiling at the camera while holding a picture of Ruth.
