Our Gang is a 1922 silent short film. It was the third of Hal Roach's Our Gang (Little Rascals) shorts to be released, although it was the first to enter production. The two-reel short was released to theaters in October 1922 by Pathé.
Charles Parrot (better known as Charley Chase) served as the supervising director on Our Gang and the other early entries in the series. Fred Newmeyer directed the original version of this short, shot in January 1922. [1] After preview screenings, Roach brought in Robert F. McGowan and Tom McNamara to reshoot the film (following their work on two other Our Gangs, Fire Fighters and Young Sherlocks). [1]
No complete prints of the film Our Gang are known to survive. Approximately half of the film exists across several archival fragments held by private collectors. It is considered a lost film, the only one in the entire Our Gang series. [1]
