[edit] Summary
Picture shows the prelatic church of Opus Dei (the main church of the prelature). The photo shows an altar in the foreground (where the mortal remains of St. Josemaria are). In the background is a painting of Our Lady of Peace. St. Josemaria when he was alive constructed another church which will serve as prelatic church. It has the image of the Christ still alive on the cross. However, after he died in 1975 and John Paul II erected Opus Dei as a personal prelature in 1982, the Pope insisted that the church of the Opus Dei headquarters, the prelatic church, should be the church where the mortal remains of the founder lie. This church is Our Lady of Peace which is located in the headquarters of Opus Dei in Viale Bruno Buozzi, Parioli district in Rome, Italy.
