more images on this article wouldn't hurt. I'd love to be able to provide them, but i don't live there anymore.--Alhutch 07:07, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
It's a shame that so many people mispronnounce this capital city. The Blockbuster (and one of my favorite movies) Harry Potter in one of their special features explained about how one of the professors traveled here and there and went to OO-GAH-DOO-Goo. I would like to place this infobox in the article to improve the content and look of the article, but I don't want to put it in with a bunch of blank information. If anyone can add the missing information, I would greatly appreciate it. The infobox is copied from the article on Nairobi, Kenya.--Dekkanar 16:57, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Copyedit Attempt
I've made several changes to the article, focusing mainly on punctuation, grammar, style, cohesion, tone, wording, and spelling, but I believe it still needs the attention of someone with more experience in West Africa than mine to be sure that the historical references in particular are correct. [edit] dodgy assertion needs to be checked
"The citizens of Ouagadougou prefer their own motorcycles and bicycles (and more recently, cars) to public transportation. The city's automobiles are generally small and inexpensively made, using a small two-stroke cycle engine."
Two-stroke engines in Automobiles ? What cars are these ? East German ? Eregli bob 00:32, 21 March 2007 (UTC) Insertformulahere
[edit] The Amazing Race
Ouagadougou features in the current (Nov. 2007) run of the TV series "The Amazing Race." I have no idea if that fact rises to the level of being encyclopedic, but this was the first video I'd ever seen of the city (and what led me to this page.) At least I knew where Burkina Faso is on the map... :-) Can anyone suggest whether this TV appearance belongs in the article or not? Birdbrainscan (talk) 02:42, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
