[edit] Sharamudoi Who Serve The Mother

In the section on Sharamudoi is the following statement:

"There is a separate leader for both the Ramudoi and Shamudoi, but Those Who Serve the Mother among them are known as Shamuds."

I believe this is an inference drawn from inconclusive evidence. All Those Who Serve the Mother who are referred to in the text could be members of the Shamudoi moiety of the Sharamudoi. There is no evidence to prove that there are none Who Serve the Mother that are referred to as Ramuds amongst the Ramudoi. (Likewise there is also no evidence to prove that such do exist, but the above referenced statement authoritatively claims Shamud to be the sole and exclusive title of One Who Serves the Mother amongst the Sharamudoi, which is not necessarily the case and therefore should not be claimed.)

[edit] Ayla's background

The article postulates that Ayla's family background is unknown, which is correct, but then goes on to say that her family is most probably not from the local area, based on the blanket statement that all men find her looks to be exotic. However, I cannot remember any Mamutoi male with that impression, good looking yes, but exotic no. In the few days that the Lion Camp (with Ayla and Jondalar) stays with the Sungaea, Ayla learns to speak some of the language, but I cannot remember her describing it as being close to Mamutoi. My own opinion on the subject is that Ayla is herself of Sungaea ancestory.
