Osphronemus is the only genus within the subfamily Osphroneminae (family Osphronemidae). These fish are known as the giant gouramis.
The genus Osphronemus contains four species.[1]
- Elephant ear gourami, Osphronemus exodon
- Giant gourami, (Osphronemus goramy)
- Giant red tail gourami, Osphronemus laticlavius
- Osphronemus septemfasciatus
