OSN

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

OSN or Operating System Nucleus, is the operating system used in German Alcatel's telephone switches. It runs on x86 processors. Boards running OSN have three simultaneously blinking LEDs, at a frequency of about 4 Hz, on the front panel. OSN was developed by the R&D center in Stuttgart.

OSN runs about 40% of Germany's telephone switches. Siemens is a competitor to Alcatel on this market.
