[edit] WikiCast

In followup to the IRC disscusion the ideas where

1) Basic Calculasu course 20 "Joy of Math" - covering 'intresting' math problems simmilar to those covered by the Mathametical Recreations Column of the Scientific american

As WikiCast is a wiki, you are welcome to propose your own format, and get feedback. In fact it's preferable if you did, so that you are not constrained by any pre-concived ideas I have :-)

My rough idea in respect of 2) was to keep it at a general level, ie not 'hard' math like a calculus course would be.

However I look forward to seeing your ideas :-) ShakespeareFan00 00:02, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Smile!

[edit] Your edit to House of Leaves

Is this version of the entry more accurate? (You can see the difference here.) I don't know much about Norse mythology, so I really don't if these statements are accurate. I just think that, if those 3 gods did lose those specific body parts (through sacrifice or not), it should probably be mentioned in the article. If they're not accurate, please feel free to remove the passage again.  :) Thank you! Wyatt Riot 13:42, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Wow! That one comment made me want to read more Norse mythology, now I just have to fit it in with everything else I want to read!  :) I hope that, with the overt references already listed, there may be more that you'll discover. Thank you! Wyatt Riot 23:12, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] wikibreak

Thanks for your message while I was on break. Don't worry, I am not going to leave Wikipedia any time soon. Here's what I wrote about leaving more than a year ago. Nice to hear from you, NoSeptember 00:05, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hi there

I saw your vote on the Wolpo Afd. He is the subject of many many not trivail reliable sources and has been active in many important causes - why do you think that he does not meet the primary notability criterion? [edit] Fair use rationale for Image:JohnnyCashAmericanIIISolitaryMan.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:JohnnyCashAmericanIIISolitaryMan.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:34, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Amazon

I've asked a question at Talk:Amazon (disambiguation) that you might be able to answer since you changed the redirect. Why does Amazon redirect to Amazons rather than Amazon (disambiguation) Surely the world's largest river, the world's largest rainforest and a huge multi national company are all equally as notable as the ancient legendary people? The Barnstar of Good Humor
For the laugh with your comment on the Reference Desk here. The reference desk could use a little more humour like you to pass the time between mind numbingly stupid questions! Lie! 04:41, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Great job on the sorting navbox, I love it. ~ Booya Bazooka 18:45, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

I also hate the standard text too and frequently try to change the setting. I suggest trying changing your skin to colgne blue which is very different ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 15:36, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for that extremely kind reaction to my piece in the NYRB--warmly appreciated. Best regards,--Wageless (talk) 21:49, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Article Rescue Contest revival

There is a discussion ongoing at Wikipedia talk:Article Rescue Squadron about reviving the Wikipedia:Article rescue contest. I noticed you were listed as one of the judges, I would appreciate it very much if you would lend your experience to the discussion. -- RoninBK T C 15:08, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
