OSJ stands for Old School Joe, a nickname from my grad student days.

My real name is Joe Fields. I'm a Mathematician specializing in Combinatorics and Coding Theory.

I started an enterprise known as the "Online Dictionary of Combinatorics" in the very early days of the World Wide Web (approx 1993). I also authored HTMX, one of the early strategies for putting mathematical content on the Web.

From 1994 to 1999 I did doctoral studies at the University of Illinois, Chicago. Since 1999 I have been a professor in the Connecticut State University System.
