Oscar Youngdahl

Oscar Ferdinand Youngdahl (October 13, 1893February 3, 1946) was a Representative from Minnesota; born in Minneapolis, Minnesota; he attended the public schools and Hamline University, St. Paul, Minnesota; was graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Peter, Minnesota in 1916; principal of Ortonville, Minnesota High School and instructor of dramatics and public speaking 1916–1918; during the First World War served as a seaman second class in the United States Navy in 1918 and 1919; engaged in the sale of bonds and securities 1919–1925; was graduated from the Minnesota College of Law at Minneapolis in 1925; was admitted to the bar the same year and commenced practice in Minneapolis; unsuccessful candidate for attorney general in 1936; elected as a Republican to the 76th and 77th congresses, (January 3, 1939January 3, 1943); unsuccessful candidate for renomination in 1942; resumed the practice of law until his death in Minneapolis; interment in Lakewood Cemetery.
