Oscar Torre

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Oscar Torre is a Cuban-American actor. He has amassed a collective body of work that encompasses theatre and independent films. He first garnered attention with the lead role in the film Libertad, playing an artist in Cuba who is unjustly sentenced to 15 years in prison and later escapes on a raft. After viewing his performance, NBC-TV film critic Maria Salas predicted, "Oscar will be the next Latin star," and Telerevista Magazine listed him as one of the actors in Hollywood to keep your eyes on. Theatre critic Jacob Clark of MetroLA Magazine, in his review of the play "The Contract," says "Oscar Torre is an incredibly organic actor whose work (as Dave) is a marvel through his absolute naturalness. Torre literally lives the character, and I can think of no better accolade for a performance." Oscar will next be seen starring in the Lion's Gate film, "Movidas,"directed by Joe Menendez
