Oscar Téllez

Oscar Téllez Gómez (April 2, 1975 in Madrid) is a Spanish football player, who mostly played for Deportivo Alavés (1997-98, 1999-06), appearing in 123 La Liga matches, with 3 goals in five top-flight seasons. In 1998-99 played once for Valencia CF, spending the rest of the season with neighbours Villarreal CF (20 matches). He was known as a rugged central defender with strength and heading ability. Téllez was capped for the Spanish national football team four times, the first in 2001 against Japan. Fired during 2005-06, due to conflicts with the management.
