Oscar Ortiz (El Salvador)

Oscar Ortiz (born in San Alejo, 1961) is the mayor of the Salvadoran city of Santa Tecla. He has served in that position since 2000, and was reelected in 2003 and 2006. Ortiz is a member of the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front (FMLN), a revolutionary and socialist political party.

During El Salvador's civil war from 1980 to 1992, Ortiz was a combatant with the Popular Liberation Forces - Farabundo Martí (FPL), one of the five organizations that comprised the FMLN.
