Oscar Harrison

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Oscar Harrison (born April 15, 1965 in Birmingham, England) is the drummer, pianist, and occasional vocalist in Ocean Colour Scene (OCS).

Harrison started out in the eleven piece reggae collective, Echo Base, who were signed to the same record label as UB40 with whom they toured. Despite releasing an album the band felt they were going nowhere and separated. Through the manager of Echo Base, Harrison met with The Fanatics who later became Ocean Colour Scene.

He is primarily a drummer but also plays the piano. He got his vocal debut on OCS' 2005 album, A Hyperactive Workout For The Flying Squad, taking the lead vocals on their cover of Bob Andy's "My Time". Harrison supports Aston Villa, is a keen golfer and suffers from hayfever. A series of back injuries caused by a slipped disc have required him to either cancel or be replaced at a series of gigs throughout his career.

As of 2006, Harrison is still touring with OCS.
