Oscar A. Solis

Bishop Oscar Azarcon Solis (born October 13, 1953) is an auxiliary bishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles, California. Solis is the first Filipino-American to be consecrated a bishop. He was ordained a priest in 1979. He was appointed auxiliary bishop of Los Angeles by Pope John Paul II and was consecrated bishop on February 11, 2004.

Solis' first assignment was in a parish at Cabanatuan, Philippines and later became the priest at a many parishes in The Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux, Louisiana. When Fr. Solis was announced as Bishop, he was serving as Rector of St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux, Louisiana. As bishop he is the head a council focusing on minority issues.
