[edit] History of Osbourn High School
The namesakes of Osbourn High School, Ms. Eugenia Osbourn and Ms. Fannie Osbourn, were the assistant principal and principal of the Manassas Institute. In 1908, the Institute became part of the Virginia Public School system and was renamed the Manassas Agricultural High School. In 1928 a new school was built on Lee Avenue and the school became Manassas High School. Ms. Eugenia Osbourn remained principal of this high school until 1935. In 1939, the Manassas, Virginia school was renamed Osbourn High School in her honor.
Today Osbourn is commonly referred to as "OHS" and "no not Park", the latter in reference to the similarly named Osbourn Park High School located nearby and consequently a major rival of OHS.
Now located on Tudor Lane, Osbourn has a student body of some 1850 students. The Osbourn Eagles' football team was undefeated and crowned state champions for the 2006 season. Their graduation ceremony is usually held on the second Monday in June, at the Nissan Pavilion.
