Osamu Akimoto

Osamu Akimoto (秋本 治 Akimoto Osamu) is a mangaka born on December 11, 1952 in Katsushika, Tokyo, Japan. Akimoto is best known for his long running series Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen-mae Hashutsujo, published in Weekly Shonen Jump starting in 1976 which was later adapted into a television anime. He won the Shogakukan Manga Award in 2005.
