Osa Peninsula

The Osa Peninsula (Spanish: Península de Osa) is a peninsula located in southwestern Costa Rica, in the Puntarenas Province, on the Pacific Ocean, at .
Episodes of two different TV shows based on jungle survival were both filmed in the Osa Conservation Area on this peninsula. The episode Costa Rica of Survivorman which first aired on January 1, 2007, and the episode Costa Rican Rain Forest of Man vs. Wild which first aired on November 17, 2006. Both shows aired on the Discovery Channel.
The peninsula was formed geologically by a faulting system that extends north into California.

The Osa Peninsula is also home to at least 50% of all species living in Costa Rica. The main city on the Peninsula is Puerto Jimenez, which has its own airport and provides access to Corcovado National Park as well as the coastal villages of Cabo Matapalo and Carate.
