Talk:Orval Faubus
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
On January 13, 2005, I edited Wikipedia's article about Orval Faubus, changing the last date in this statement...
"Faubus did seek the governorship again in 1970, 1974, and 1978 but was defeated in those years' Democratic primaries by Dale Bumpers, David Pryor and Bill Clinton, respectively, each of whom went on to win in November."
from 1986 to 1978.

[edit] PHOTOS
On this page I am looking for the well known photos of a governor standing at the schoolhouse door, as Faubus did in 1957 at Cental High and in 1963 at the university. CAN THEY BE FOUND AND SHOWN?
[edit] Citations Needed
The "Final Chapter" section does not have one citation. It gives several numbers and statistics. Where did you find these? Without a citation I have to assume they were made up. Plus there are some, dare I say, segregation sympathizing views in the section that do not seem encyclopedic. Where did you see "some question the Brown decision". Who questions it? With out citations I have to assume this is just some "good old boy's" opinion. Please verify your claims.Ags412 23:18, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Possessive of Faubus
By Strunk and White (and Wikipedia's Manual of Style , the possessive of a proper noun is created by adding an apostrophe-s to the end of the word. Also, just pulling up a random page about him on the net I see that the possessive of his name is usually spelled "Faubus's". http://www.infoplease.com/ce6/people/A0818333.html http://www.anythingarkansas.com/arkapedia/pedia/Orval_Faubus/ Gruber76 18:02, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
