Japhet Oru was born on the 22nd of August, 1980 in a small town called Mbonge in Cameroon. His parents are Oru Amos Oru, a worker with the Cameroon Development Coorporation (CDC) in Mbonge and mother Elizabeth Oru, a stay home mom. Japhet attended his elementary education in the Government primary school, mbonge. He later attended Government High School, Ekondo-titi from 1994 to 1998 where he failed the General Certificate of Education Ordinary level (GCE O-level) with his center having "0" percent. He later went to Standard Comprehensive in Buea where he passed the GCE O-level. He moved forward to attend his high school in Presbyterian high School (PHS) kumba in 1999-2000 school year. He left PHS after one year and moved to Imperial academy (IMPAAS) Tiko where he got his GCE advanced level. After leaving high school, he attended the University of Buea, popularly known as "UB-The Place To Be" for two years. In March of 2004, he left UB and traveled to the United States of America.
