Ornithogalum dubium, also known as Sun Star, is a perennial bulbous flowering plant of the family Hyacinthaceae. It is native to South Africa (Cape Province).

Perennial with bulbs below ground. Leaves 3-8, yellowish green, margins ciliate. Scapes 10-25 cm long. Raceme cylindric to almost spherical with 5-25 flowers. Tepals ranging from orange, red, yellow or rarely white, often with a green or brown center. Flowers in winter or spring.

O. dubium is frost-tender and is best grown in containers but is not easy to flower the next season. The main soil requirement is excellent drainage, ample water in the spring. It is mainly grown for cut flower and flowering pot-plant production.
