Ormesby is a former village, and now suburb spanning the Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland urban boroughs in North East England, within the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire. Although some of Ormesby is within the Borough of Redcar & Cleveland, it is part of the Middlesbrough urban sub-area and is within the TS7 postcode area which is generally reserved for Marton and Nunthorpe within the Borough of Middlesbrough. It has a population of approximately 6,500 residents.

A survival of the original Ormesby Village is the High Street's 18th century Sundial Row (a terrace of ex-almshouses and stables now privately owned) that is now the centerpiece to a conservation area, alongside the National Trust property, Ormesby Hall, which historically belonged to the parish of Ormesby.

Ormesby was initially separate from the parish of Eston, but was later included in the Eston urban district.

It latterly became fully urbanised. Ormeby was founded in 1023 and still flourishes today. Many schools are in this village including Ormesby Primary and Comprehensive School and Pennyman Primary School.
