Orlingbury

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Orlingbury is a village and civil parish in the English county of Northamptonshire.

It is located in the centre of the county between the towns of Kettering and Wellingborough. Administratively it forms part of the borough of Wellingborough.

On the ouskirts of Orlingbury is a fine cricket ground, home of Isham CC [1] who play in Div 1 of The Northamptonshire County League. Past players have included Stephen Flemming (NZ Captain), Johan Myburgh (SA Titans) and Mark Bolar (Wellingborough School).

Orlingbury's pub is the 'Queen's Arms' situated on the main road. Local legend[who?](in his own mind) John Scopes[who?] can be found at the bar most evenings holding 'council' with anyone who will listen.
