[edit] Abies again!
Здрасти Pavle - nice pic Image:Abies Orjen foliage.jpg. Is this typical of Abies on Orjen? I find this a very interesting specimen, it bears little resemblance to the Abies alba I have seen in France and (cultivated) in Britain, and much more to the A. borisii-regis I saw in Bulgaria. If I had found this specimen as a cultivated tree in Britain, I would have little hesitation in identifying it as A. borisii-regis, rather than A. alba. I would be interested in your thoughts on it (maybe I should visit Orjen some day, too!). Should the boundary between the two be investigated further? I'll ask Keith Rushforth what he thinks of it. PS your pics need to have copyright tags added, are they all gfdl? - Thanks! Michael MPF 21:31, 17 August 2005 (UTC)
Zdravo Michael. Nice of you to write in my slavic language. The foliage is typical for xerophytic specimens on bare rocks of Dinaric calcareous Silver Fir forests which are well developed on Orjen. All botanists that worked on Orjen (Fukarek, Lakusic) thought that these firs have close affinities to the Greek fir. But no detailed work on morphological characteristics has been done and no genetic information is available. I brought several specimens to Germany (Bayreuth, with Prof. Aas) and one is with me (Munich). Ziegenhagen who worked on genetic diversity of Abies alba throughout its natural range in Europe informed me that she also thinks the Orjen population very specific. My work considered biodiversity and distribution of firs on Orjen and my knowledge of morphological differences is limited, but the firs of several mountains in Montenegro (the coastal mountains) differ ecologicaly from the typical A. alba (as they are common on rather dry soils with different floristic chracteristics). The suggestion of a close relationship to A. borisii-regis seems plausible to me. Please inform me of Keith Rushforth opinion to it! The pics will get the coyright immediately, they were all taken by myself on Orjen. - Very best wishes! Pavle Orjen 07:46, 18 August 2005 (Cet)
[edit] Image Tagging Image:Zubacki kabao TK25.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Zubacki kabao TK25.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or {{fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --Romeo Bravo 01:05, 28 December 2005 (UTC)
I actually went through all of Orjen's images (an excuse to look at the interesting pictures :-) ) and added {{GFDL-self}} to all the ones that already had a GFDL statement. However, there were about a dozen that had no notation at all, and I had no option but to mark them as "no source". So it's critical that you fix these quickly (using the "my contributions" as mentioned above) or be prepared to re-upload from your backup copies... Stan 04:46, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:137106.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:137106.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. --cohesion★talk 00:44, 16 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Aquilegia Bijela gora.jpg
Thank you for uploading images/media such as Image:Aquilegia Bijela gora.jpg to Wikipedia! There is however another Wikimedia foundation project called Wikimedia Commons, a central media repository for all free media. In the future, please consider creating an account and uploading media there instead. That way, all the other language Wikipedias can use them too, as well as our many sister projects. This will also allow our visitors to search for, view and use our media in one central location. If you wish to move previous uploads to Commons, see Wikipedia:Moving images to the Commons. Please note that non-free content, such as images claimed as fair use, cannot be uploaded to the Wikimedia Commons. Help us spread the word about Commons by informing other users, and please continue uploading!
