[edit] License tagging for Image:Crescendo.jpeg

Thanks for uploading Image:Crescendo.jpeg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 14:07, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] G11

Please stop creating the Crescendo advertisement. Read WP:CSD G11 to see why it was deleted. Wikipedia is not a press release center. - CHAIRBOY () 14:26, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Also, please don't delete chunks of my user talk page. - CHAIRBOY () 14:50, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Crescendo

Sorry Chairboy as I am new to wikipedia I have deleted some of your home page details exploring who you are. I have reverted that as I am doing my first steps in wikipedia.

I would like to add the Crescendo Networks page as it is my assignement, lots of companies are listed in the wikipedia e.g. Cisco, Riverbed, Expand Networks etc. I see what you mean concerning marketing and I will delete any marketing related stuff with leaving only informational data. when it was established what is it practicing etc.

Please comment

Please see my comment. It was done un-intentionally which I apologize for.

Still new here :)

regards

No worries. The main reason I deleted the article was that it appeared to use the same breathless marketing-speak that I'd expect to find in a press release. Instead of describing a company as "The world leader in innovation, with innovative solutions in cross synergistic fantasticness" (for example), write your own description of the company using neutral, WP:NPOV language. Remember, it should be an encyclopedia article, not an advertisement. This assignment is a little harder than it appears, ya can't just copy and paste from their website!  :) Regards, CHAIRBOY () 15:02, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

That's a lot better. Next, I suggest expanding it a bit so that there's a clear reason why it's in the encyclopedia. Some roving admin might delete it because it doesn't assert any notability. What makes it important? Why should it be listed in Wikipedia? When you're done, you should be able to answer both of these questions. Best regards, CHAIRBOY () 15:28, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Crescendo.jpeg

Thanks for uploading Image:Crescendo.jpeg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 21:06, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
