Origins (cosmetics)

Origins (Origins Natural Resources) is a wellness-based beauty brand, founded in 1990 by Leonard Lauder, son of Estee Lauder. It is one of the original brands of The Estee Lauder Companies, meaning that it was created by the Lauder family, not obtained through an acquisition or buy-out.

Origins is a full line of plant-based skin-care, makeup, and body care products.

The company is best known for their skin care products. Notable lines include the "Perfect World" line of products, which feature white tea, a powerful anti-oxidant used to prevent signs of aging. Origins is also notable for its ongoing collaboration with Dr. Andrew Weil in the "Plantidote" line of products.

The company also carries many products that feature the scent of fresh ginger. In November of 2007, Origins launched the first organic line of skin care products to carry a 95% organic USDA certification seal.
