Original Sin (INXS song)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Original Sin was written in 1983 and released in 1984 by Australian rock group INXS on their 4th album The Swing. It was written by Michael Hutchence and Andrew Farriss. There is a persistent rumour that the song was not released in the United States because of its anti-racist lyrics and message; however, it was in fact released in the US in December 1983[1][2] and reached #58 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 1984 (and number 19 on the Top 106.7[3] at KROQ-FM in Los Angeles!) In Australia, it reached #12 for 1984[4].
