Oriade

Oriade is a Local Government area in the northeastern part of Osun State. It is predominantly occupied by the Ijesa people. Its capital is Ijebu-jesa. The area covers various cities and towns, including parts of Ilesha, Ijebu-jesa, Ipetu-Ijesa, Erinmo, Erin-Ijesa, Iloko, Ijeda, Iwaraja, Erin-Oke, Ikeji-Arakeji, Ikeji-Ile, Iwoye, Owena, Dagbaja, Omo-Ijesa, Ilo-Ayegunle, Ere, Eti-Oni, Apoti, Ijinmo, etc.
The population of the area was estimated to be around 80, 249 but it is believed to be a gross underestimation and the population could be well over 110,000 people.
The area has produced many prominent people and prominent families. These include the Olasore family, the Awobenu and the Fabelurin family among others. Please see the Local Government's webpage on the Osun State Website [1]
