what the hell is avaro-slavs?
avars have nothing to do with slavs originally, except for ancient scholars writing about lots of "sclavi" amongst avars... but wait a minute, "sclavi" has a meaning: slaves!and yes indeed, avars let slavs as subordinate people to the southern areas known & loved as balkans today.but what is an avaro-slav? on a linguistic map? :(
- The map is about early medieval cultures. The carpathian basin contained a fused avaro-slavic culture, whereby Slavic and Avaric elements were eventually inseperable by the time of the Late Avar Period (700 AD till 800). So Avars have a lot to do with southern Slavs given the Avars recruited the Slavs as either subjects or allies in their wars of conquest. By the end, the Avars were gone, and Slavs remained as the paramount 'ethnic' group in the Balkans.
- as for your interpretation fo the meaning of sclavi, i don't know what kind of phD you have in latin, but the word for SLave is servus, not sclavus.

Hello, location of Polotses( Polochans ) , Dregovians, Drevlians, Radimiches, Kryvich is incorrtect. "Polotses" ( Polochanie ) are, in fact, Kryvich people that founded a separate Polotsak duchy . Main centers were Smolensk and Polotsk ( bel. Polatsak), just search them on modern map. Additionally, there are known settlements of kryvich-polochans preceding Wilnia , so called Kryvy Horad (Kryvy Town). Polochans and Kryvich took part in genesis of belorussian people.
