[edit] Charles Whitman
The "irrelevant blue highlights" that you referred to in the edit summary are called Wikilinks. They are considered essential to Wikipedia as an interactive encyclopedia. The idea is that unlike a paper encyclopedia, Wikipedia allows us the opportunity to link things that we have articles on, so that people interested in learning more about an item in the article can do so. Here is some good information on links. I will go through the links to see if any repeat themselves. But from what I see, nothing is linked that shouldn't be. Wikipedia:Bootcamp is a good place to go if you have questions. --Woohookitty(meow) 11:36, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Just a tip...
You've made some good edits, but it looks like you're having a hard time assuming good faith from some of the other editors on the Charles Whitman article and its talk page. I just wanted to point out that Woohookitty and Katefan0 are both administrators, which you don't just get for being experienced; they have been recognized as some of the fairest, friendliest, most patient users here. If you can't get along with them, you're in for a tough time at Wikipedia.
Try not to assume that people are out to piss you off. Instead, especially since you're new, keep in mind that maybe they know something you don't. They probably do, and whatever changes they make (or don't make) will most likely have a foundation in a Wikipedia policy. Nobody who is editing that article right now seems to be biased in any way, whether about the pop culture references or the notability of the individual police officers. They all just want it to look its best. So don't disrupt the article to prove your points (like you did by unlinking that cop's name); discuss them—politely—on the talk page. Find out why people did what they did before you assume they're out to get you. Kafziel 17:45, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Hint
Just a hint, but when addressing somebody's comment on talkpages, a colon will indent your reply so it is clear who you are replying to, and make it easier for them as well. Example
- Hey Bob, how's it going?
- :Not bad, what are you doing today?
- ::Oh, just the usual.
- :::Alright, talk to you later.
Would come out looking like
Hey Bob, how's it going?
- Not bad, what are you doing today?
-
- Oh, just the usual.
-
-
- Alright, talk to you later.

[edit] Blocked
You've been blocked indefinitely as a sockpuppet of User:Subwayjack, and for making legal threats. You're free to pursue whatever avenues you prefer, of course, but Wikipedia's policy is to block users until their actions are completed or rescinded. You obviously have Brad Patrick's email address, so feel free to use it. · Katefan0(scribble)/poll 20:59, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
