I think a navbox would look better here, something like this:

v • d • e Organic Chemistry Affixes Carbon -ane (alkane) · -ene (alkene) · -ine (unsaturated hydrocarbon) · -yne (alkyne) · alk- (saturated hydrocarbon) · ar- (aromatic) Oxygen -al (aldehyde) · -oate (ester) · -oic acid (carboxylic acid) · -ol (alcohol) · -one (ketone) · -ose (sugar) Nitrogen aza- (N replaces C) · -ine (alkaloid) Sulfur thio- (extra S) Other -ase (enzyme)  · -yl (radical) · nor- (no residues)

Generally, it seems that a navbox is preferred when you have a list of links to other related articles, (see WP:NAV and Ice II). I don't know why this needs to be an ordinary section; if you have a special reason please tell us, otherwise, if no one objects in a couple of days, I'll go ahead and replace this template. I've updated the template to a navbox. Here is the old version:

-al: -(CO)H (e.g. aldehyde) -ane: -C-C- (e.g. alkane) -ase: enzyme (e.g. amylase) -ene: -C=C- (e.g. alkene) -oate: -COOx or -COO- (e.g. ester)

-oic acid: -COOH (e.g. carboxylic acid) -ol: -OH (e.g. alcohol) -one: C=O (e.g. ketone) -ose: sugar (e.g. glucose) -yl: radical

-yne: -C≡C- (e.g. alkyne) alk-: saturated hydrocarbon (e.g. alkane) ar-: any aromatic compound aza-: N instead of C thio-: S (often instead of O)

Obviously, one could continue creating pages for every organic chemistry affix (e.g. meth-, eth-, prop-, cis-, trans-, etc.), but this begs the question, when do we stop?
