Talk:Organization story

[edit] Definition?
Currently, this article defines organization story as
“collective storytelling system in which the performance of stories is a key part of members’ sense-making and a means to allow them to supplement individual memories with institutional memory” (Boje, 1991: 106)
As I can’t make much sense of this, I will try to formulate some questions that I think are insufficiently answered by this “definition”:
- “collective” refers to a collection of — whom?
- What is a “storytelling system”?
- What is meant by the “performance” of a story?
- “members” — of what? (Probably of the unknown collective implied earlier?)
- “Sense-making” refers to making sense of what?
- Why would “members” want to supplement their own memories with “institutional memory”?
Some examples might also help to make this article more understandable to a general audience.
Oh — and how can a story be a story-telling system?
